South Australia Director
Sara Hetzel is WISA’s South Australia Director and CEO of Hetzel Oysters, a family oyster business based in Coffin Bay. She brings 14 years of seafood industry experience, growing and selling oysters with her husband for Australian and overseas markets. With a background in education, including a Master of Education and more than a decade of teaching experience, Sara is passionate about helping people build their skills and confidence. She also serves on the South Australian Oyster Growers Association Board and the Fish Names Committee.
As one of the first facilitators in WISA’s Turn the Tide program, Sara worked with other women to encourage networking and stronger industry connections. She understands the isolation that can come with working in regional and rural seafood communities and brings that perspective to the Board. Having experienced the confidence and support that WISA offers, Sara wants to help more women discover its community, try new things and recognise what they can achieve.

We pay our respects to Elders past and present who hold the knowledge, culture and spiritual connections to land, sky and waters and whose guidance continues to shape their sustainable, ethical and responsible care.
