Women in Seafood Australasia

WISA builds the capacity of its seafood women to contribute to their industry

Women in Seafood Australasia (WISA) is the only national organisation in Australia representing women in the Seafood Industry.  It is a unique network covering the tough world of commercial fishing, processing sector, aquaculture, cutting edge research, policy and resource management.

WISA developed a 5 year work plan in 2018 and are working towards the following priorities:

Engage – Create, build and maintain engagement opportunities for women that live and work in the Seafood Industry Australia

Inform – Create and provide two way effective communication and long term processes that achieve this

Capacity Build – Provide platforms to improve the capabilities and capacity of women that work in Seafood Industries in Australia

Governance – build an effective, high functioning Board that provides projects and activities that improve the visibility of seafood women in Australia

The WISA Women in Seafood C-Leaders Online Program has been specifically designed as a Leadership Pathway for women in the seafood industry wishing to improve their leadership and advocacy skills. Learning about your unique leadership style, build confidence in your unique leadership style and learn to work with others with differing technique. The program will also touch on some selfcare, awareness and limitations as part of a leadership journey. The Women in Seafood C-Leaders Online Program is funded by the Fisheries Research and Development Corporation.
