Karen has worked for the Seafood sector in New Zealand for over 38 years. She has held a number of roles over that time from Fishery Officer to Ministerial Private Secretary. Her current role is GM Business Operations and Service Deliver at Seafood New Zealand.

Having worked in the industry for over 35 years, I have a real passion for the sector. I would love to have a sector that is representative of the wider community at all levels – from the water to the board room. Women are a significant contributor, but there is potential for so much more.

As our closest neighbours, it is so important that we can work closely together to build capacity and to empower women in the seafood industry. I am super excited to be part of the WISA organisation.
