Karen Olver

Independent Director

Karen has five years experience as a Fisheries Compliance Officer, work as a Senior Registry Officer, Fisheries Private Secretary to Hon John Luxton and Senior Business Analyst working on the implementation of the 1996 Fisheries Act. For the past 15 years Karen has worked for Seafood New Zealand, the primary representative entity for the seafood industry in New Zealand.

“Having worked in the industry for over 35 years, I have a real passion for the sector. I would love to have a sector that is representative of the wider community at all levels – from the water to the board room. Women are a significant contributor, but there is potential for so much more. As our closest neighbours, it is so important that we can work closely together to build capacity and to empower women in the seafood industry. I am super excited to be part of the WISA organisation.”

WISA is working towards ways to better connect with their members and all seafood women across the Australasian Seafood Industry.
