Queensland Director
Roberta Marcoli is a self-confessed fish nerd, ocean lover and passionate advocate for gender inclusivity in the seafood industry. Originally from Italy, she has followed her love for science and aquaculture around the world, from French Polynesia to Aotearoa New Zealand, and now Australia.
Along the way, Roberta has had the pleasure of meeting and working with incredible women and men across the seafood and aquaculture sectors, whose experiences and leadership continue to inspire her.
She currently works as a Research Fellow at James Cook University and has built strong connections across the seafood industry, academia and the broader agricultural sector. Roberta is also passionate about science communication and education and is a children’s book author.
As WISA Queensland Director, Roberta is excited to connect with and support women across the diverse seafood sector, helping to create an industry where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
